Pain is not the Issue with Abortion

A recent report in the Journal of the American Medical Association, argues that pre-born children do not feel any pain until after the third trimester of the pregnancy (to be exact it says, “fetal perception of pain is unlikely before the third trimester”).
Pro abortion folks hope the report will kill several fetal-pain laws throughout the U.S., including a proposed federal law which would require doctors to inform women about that their un-born child will feel pain if their abort him or her.
Before this report most researchers believed that a child in the womb could feel pain and thus suffer during an abortion after just 20 weeks.
Okay, so that is the news, now for my take on it.
1. I hope this new report is correct.
2. Even if their is a question about fetal pain mothers should still be informed.
3. Pain is NOT the issue.
First. I hope this new report is correct, and un-born infants do not, in fact, feel pain until late in a pregnancy. I hope this because right now their are thousands of children dying in abortion clinics, and I hope to God they are not suffering. If women and doctors are going to work together to kill children, I pray, at least, that the children won't feel the pain.
Second. Even if this new research does create some doubt about fetal pain, doctors should still be required to inform women, who are seeking an abortion, about the possibility of fetal pain. Just like those doctors should inform women, who are seeking an abortion, about new research which demonstrates that abortions increase cancer risk.
Lastly. Pain is not the issue. Abortion is wrong not because the child feels pain. Abortion is wrong because it is the murder of a helpless child. Abortion is wrong because it devalues human life, damages our society, and insults God.
